AI Job Survival — Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 2026-05-18 Effective date: 2026-05-18

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of AI Job Survival, the entanglement-rating service operated at ai-job-survival.caterbum.com (the "Service"), operated by Caterbum, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing the Service, creating an account, uploading files, or making a payment, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

AI Job Survival takes a position description (or a set of position-description files) and returns an estimated distribution of that role's work across a five-level "Multi-Domain Entanglement Scale," with a short headline, commentary on likely AI exposure, and tagged sample tasks. Output is generated by large language models and is provided for informational and educational purposes only.

The Service is not professional advice. Output does not constitute employment, human-resources, hiring, compensation, workforce-planning, career, legal, financial, or other professional advice. It must not be used as a sole or primary basis for any employment decision, including hiring, firing, role design, compensation, or workforce reduction. You are solely responsible for evaluating whether any output is accurate, applicable, or appropriate, and for any decisions you make. AI-generated ratings are estimates that vary between runs and may be wrong.

2. Eligibility and Authorized Jurisdictions

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service.

Authorized jurisdiction. The Service is offered only to users located in the State of North Carolina, United States. Use of the Service from any other U.S. state or territory, or from outside the United States, is not authorized. We reserve the right to expand or change the authorized jurisdiction at any time, and to block access from any location where compliance with local law would be impractical.

By using the Service, you represent that you are physically located in an authorized jurisdiction and not on any U.S. government list of restricted persons.

3. Accounts

To make a payment or access paid features, you must create an account by providing a valid email address. The Service uses passwordless sign-in: we email you a one-time login link rather than asking you to set a password. You are responsible for:

  • Providing an accurate, current email address you control
  • Keeping access to that email account secure, and not forwarding or sharing one-time login links
  • All activity that occurs under your account

The free tier and the access-gated batch tool do not require an account; paid credit purchases do. Notify us promptly at readysetdata@caterbum.com if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization. We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorized account access that occurred before you notified us, but we will work with you in good faith to investigate and resolve such incidents (see Section 7).

4. Files You Upload (Batch Analysis)

The Service includes an access-gated batch tool that lets you upload position-description files (for example, PDFs or Word documents, including documents describing roles at organizations other than your own) for bulk analysis.

By uploading any file, you represent and warrant that you have the lawful right and authority to upload it and to have it processed as described in the Privacy Policy, including any document that describes a role at a client, employer, or third-party organization. You are responsible for not uploading: payment-card data; government identification numbers; protected health information; biometric data; or other sensitive personal data of identifiable individuals for which you lack lawful authority. Position descriptions that identify a specific individual should be redacted before upload where you do not have authority to share that individual's information.

Uploaded files are processed transiently and automatically deleted shortly after processing (see the Privacy Policy for the retention window). We are a processor of the file content you choose to submit; you are responsible, as between you and us, for the lawfulness of that submission and for any obligations you owe to the individuals or organizations the documents concern.

5. Payment and What You Receive

5.1 Plans and what each entitles you to

Current prices and entitlements are shown on the Service's purchase screen and may change as described in Section 5.3.

  • Free tier. A fixed number of free analyses per browser (a one-time lifetime allowance per browser, not a recurring per-day or per-month grant), subject to rate limits and the Acceptable Use rules in Section 6. No payment required. We may change the free-tier amount at any time.
  • One-time analysis-credit packs (the current paid option). You may make a one-time purchase of a fixed number of analysis credits. Each credit lets you run one analysis. Credit packs are one-time purchases — there is no subscription, no recurring charge, and nothing auto-renews. One credit is consumed per successful analysis; an analysis that fails due to a Service error does not consume a credit. Credits are subject to the validity period in Section 5.1a.
  • Subscriptions (if and when offered). We may in the future offer recurring subscription plans. If we do, the subscription-specific terms in this Section 5 will apply to those plans. Until a subscription plan is actually offered and you affirmatively enroll, no subscription or recurring charge applies to you, and references to "subscription," "billing period," or "renewal" elsewhere in these Terms do not apply to one-time credit-pack purchases.

Unless explicitly stated, no plan includes service-level guarantees, prioritized support, or a license to redistribute output beyond the Acceptable Use rules in Section 6.

5.1a Credit validity (90 days)

Purchased credits are valid for 90 days from the date of your most recent credit purchase. Making a new credit purchase extends the validity of your entire unused credit balance to 90 days from that new purchase. Credits that remain unused when the validity period ends expire and are no longer redeemable, except as provided in Section 5.5 (Refunds) and Section 5.8 (Discontinuation of the Service). This validity period is disclosed at the point of purchase, not only here.

We may add, remove, or rename plans. If we materially reduce the entitlements of a plan you are actively paying for, we will notify you by email and offer the pro-rata remedy described in Section 5.8.

5.2 Pricing and billing

Current pricing is shown on the Service's purchase screen. One-time credit packs are charged once, at the time of purchase, for the amount shown — they do not recur. If we offer subscription plans in the future, those would be billed in advance on a recurring basis until cancelled; that recurring-billing model applies only to subscription plans you affirmatively enroll in. Payment is processed through PayPal; by paying, you also agree to PayPal's terms.

5.3 Renewals

Subscriptions, if ever offered, automatically renew at the then-current price unless cancelled before the renewal date. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to notify you of material price changes before they take effect. One-time credit packs do not renew.

5.4 Cancellation

There is nothing to cancel for one-time credit packs. If subscription plans are ever offered, you may cancel at any time from your account settings or by emailing readysetdata@caterbum.com; cancellation stops future renewals and does not retroactively refund the current billing period unless required by Section 5.5.

5.5 Refunds

Summary: Refunds are evaluated case-by-case at our discretion. This Section describes how we handle refund requests; it does not limit any rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law or under your payment provider's buyer-protection program.

How to request a refund. Email readysetdata@caterbum.com with your account email, the charge in question, and the reason. We aim to respond within five business days. We strongly prefer that you contact us before disputing a charge with your payment provider; most issues can be resolved directly and faster (see Section 7.2).

Situations we generally view favorably. We will typically issue a full or partial refund when:

  • The charge was a duplicate or accidental.
  • You purchased a credit pack, have used few or none of the credits, and contact us promptly (we will typically refund the unused portion pro-rata).
  • A documented Service outage or defect materially prevented you from using what you paid for.
  • We discontinue the Service while you hold unused, in-validity credits (see Section 5.8).
  • The charge resulted from unauthorized account access not caused by your own negligence (see Section 7).

Situations we generally do not refund. Except where required by law or buyer-protection rules, we will typically decline refund requests for:

  • Credits consumed by successful analyses, or that expired unused after the Section 5.1a validity period (note Section 5.8 still applies if we discontinue the Service).
  • Charges more than 90 days old.
  • Dissatisfaction with output that is the inherent product of AI-generated responses (see Sections 1 and 12).

Method and timing. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method and may take several business days to several weeks to appear.

Buyer-protection programs. Nothing in this Section limits your right to file a dispute with your payment provider (e.g., PayPal Purchase Protection). Those programs operate independently of our policy. We will participate in any such dispute in good faith and will be bound by the provider's final determination.

5.6 Failed payments

If a payment fails, we may withhold credits until payment is resolved.

5.7 Taxes

Listed prices do not include sales, use, or similar taxes. You are responsible for any such taxes that apply to your purchase.

5.8 Discontinuation of the Service

If we permanently discontinue the Service (or permanently discontinue paid access), then for any credits you purchased that are unused and still within their validity period at the time we announce discontinuation, we will refund the unused portion on a pro-rata basis to the original payment method, calculated as (unused valid credits ÷ credits in the purchase) × the price you paid for that purchase. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide advance notice by email. This Section survives termination and applies in addition to your buyer-protection rights in Section 5.5 and Section 7.2.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  1. Resell or redistribute the Service or its output as your own commercial product, or repackage it into a competing service.
  2. Scrape, mirror, or systematically download the Service or any output, including via automated tools, headless browsers, or by sharing account or access credentials to multiply effective volume.
  3. Attempt to circumvent rate limits, paywalls, the batch access code, authentication, or any technical access controls.
  4. Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the underlying prompts, model weights, scale definitions, or system instructions.
  5. Use the Service to generate content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, infringing, or that violates the rights of others.
  6. Use the Service to make or substantially inform an adverse employment decision about an identifiable individual without independent human judgment and any legally required process.
  7. Upload files or submit text containing third-party personal data, protected health information, payment-card data, or other sensitive information for which you lack lawful authority (see Section 4).
  8. Misrepresent the source of output — e.g., presenting AI-generated ratings as human expert assessment where that distinction matters.
  9. Attack, disrupt, or test the security of our infrastructure or any third party.
  10. Use the Service from an unauthorized jurisdiction (Section 2) or on behalf of someone who is.

We may suspend or terminate access for any violation, and may refer suspected illegal activity to law enforcement.

Fair use

For high-volume or batch use, "fair use" means usage consistent with a single professional analyzing real roles. Sustained programmatic-scale usage may be rate-limited or treated as a Section 6(2) violation.

7. Unauthorized Access, Fraud, and Chargebacks

7.1 If your account is compromised

If you believe your account has been accessed without authorization or fraudulent charges have been made: (1) notify us immediately at readysetdata@caterbum.com; (2) review your billing records; (3) contact your payment provider to dispute unauthorized charges. We will investigate in good faith, suspend the account during investigation if appropriate, and refund charges determined to result from unauthorized access not caused by your own negligence.

7.2 Chargebacks and payment-provider disputes

You retain all rights to dispute charges with your payment provider under their buyer-protection rules, and we will participate in good faith. We strongly prefer you contact us at readysetdata@caterbum.com before filing a dispute; most billing issues resolve within a few business days. If you initiate a dispute for a charge you authorized and used and the provider determines it lacks merit, we may decline to provide future Service to you. The outcome of any payment-provider dispute is determined by the provider, and we are bound by their decision regardless of these Terms.

8. Service Availability

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee any specific uptime. The Service may be unavailable for maintenance, updates, or factors outside our control. We are not liable for losses resulting from downtime, but for prolonged outages materially affecting paid users we will, on request, add replacement analysis credits to your account.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, the Multi-Domain Entanglement Scale and its level definitions, prompts, and brand, is owned by us and protected by applicable law. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal or internal business purposes, subject to these Terms.

You retain ownership of the position descriptions and files you submit. By submitting them, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to process them to provide and improve the Service (see Privacy Policy). You may use output for your own personal, internal, or commercial purposes, subject to Sections 1 and 6. We make no warranty that output is original, non-infringing, or unique to you; similar inputs may produce similar output for different users.

10. Modifications

We may modify these Terms or the Service at any time. Material changes will be posted at https://ai-job-survival.caterbum.com/terms with an updated "Last updated" date and, for account holders, communicated by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion at readysetdata@caterbum.com. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, suspected fraud, non-payment, or for any reason on reasonable notice. If we permanently discontinue the Service entirely, Section 5.8 governs refunds of unused, in-validity credits. Sections that by their nature should survive (IP, disclaimers, limitation of liability, dispute resolution, Section 5.8) survive termination.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT OUTPUT IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, RELIABLE, OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE. AI-GENERATED CONTENT MAY CONTAIN ERRORS, FABRICATIONS, OR MISAPPLICATIONS. RATINGS ARE ESTIMATES AND VARY BETWEEN RUNS. YOU USE OUTPUT AT YOUR OWN RISK, AND MUST NOT RELY ON IT AS THE SOLE BASIS FOR ANY EMPLOYMENT DECISION.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOST OPPORTUNITIES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those jurisdictions, the limitation applies to the fullest extent permitted.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, or damages, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of any rights of a third party, or (d) files or content you uploaded without lawful authority.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Any dispute arising under these Terms will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Gaston County, North Carolina, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

You agree that any dispute will be tried by a judge sitting without a jury, and you waive any right to a jury trial. You further agree to bring any claim relating to the Service or these Terms only on an individual basis, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative action.

16. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
  • Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
  • Assignment. You may not assign your rights without our consent. We may assign freely, including in connection with a merger or sale.
